Family Concert

The
Pope Family is back by popular demand!!
Once
again, our fall concert will feature the wonderfully talented Pope
family, including Carolyn, a member of Opera.; her daughters
Lindsay, Cecilie and Laurian; and aunt Edith Stearns. Lindsay
a vocalist is a 2003 graduate of Westwood High School and currently
a student at Mount Holyoke College. Cecile and Laurian play violin
and cello respectively. Edith Stearns is a pianist who was formerly
head of the Piano Department at Boston University.This event is a
fundraiser for the Society.
Carolyn
Pope, a lyric soprano, has been performing costumed operatic
duets with Opera Etc. for the past 10 years, giving over 70
performances in the New England area. She has performed with
several operatic workshops, as well as being a church soloist for
area churches.
Lindsay
Pop, a mezzo soprano, and currently a student at Mt. Holyoke
College. A graduate of Westwood High class of 2003, she has
sung with the high school chorus, All-State chorus, Youth pro Musica
chorus, and participated in the Boston University Tanglewood program
as a junior. At college, she is a member of the V-8's a
cappella group and the chamber singers. Both Carolyn and
Lindsay have been students of Elizabeth Vrenios, head of the voice
department at American University.
Cecilie
Pope, violinist, is a senior at Westwood High School, a member
of the ensemble group, and for the past 5 years participated in
junior and senior district. She is a student of Laura Bossert
of Wellesley College.
Laurian
Pope, cellist, is a sophomore at Westwood High School, a member
of the ensemble group, and a junior district member of 3
years. She is a student of Andy Mark. All three girls
auditioned and participated in the Heifetz Music Institute this past
summer in Wolfeboro, NH
Edith
Stearns, pianist, is a former head of the piano department at
Boston University has given solo performances as well as
performances with major orchestras in the U.S. and Europe. She
has also been a soloist with the Boston Pops. Miss Stearns is
a resident of Foxhill Village.
Tickets
for the concert are
$10.00 each.

Our concert was
extremely well received last year and I am hopeful that we can
continue to show enthusiastic support for the Schoolhouse Concert
Series and help it grow in it's fourth year. Please help out
by passing this word on to others who might enjoy a winter's
afternoon of fine classical music.
