Giant Plant Sale 9am to 1 pm May 11th 

Rain or Shine!

May 11th, 2013 -     The Annual Giant Plant Sale on Saturday May 12th on the lawn of the Fisher School at 830 High Street on Route 109, starting at 9 am sponsored by the Westwood Historical Society. Featured will be an extensive array of locally grown perennials, herbs, annuals and shrubs ready to plant and enhance your garden.  Specifically, parsley, chives, oregano, thyme, sage, dill, hosta, may apple, veronica speedwell, peonies, iris, sedum, phlox, hemerocallis, columbine, Jacob's ladder, achillea, vinca, monarda,  lady's mantle, nepeta, ginger, coreopsis, coral bells, evening primrose, muscari, lily of the valley, yucca, aster, ajuga and spirea, and so many more too numerous to mention, will be for sale. Annuals and houseplants will perk up every home.  Come early for the best selection of perennials and shrubs, some donated by  a local nursery.  Experts will be on hand for advice and ready to assist you. 

For parking it is easiest to enter from Nahatan Street and park on the Thurston Middle School drive. 

Donations of plants are needed and are welcome anytime prior to the sale.  Drop off for contributions is anytime at Lura Provost's 68 Milk Street Westwood.  The array of plants has already begun to accumulate.

The Giant Plant Sale of 2012 is the Westwood Historical Society's sixteenth Plant Sale scheduled on May 12th to take advantage of the best time to plant.  Proceeds benefit the restoration of the Obed Baker House on High Street and the Society's community programs. House and Garden sorry cancelled for this year

May th, 2014-  (hopefully) The Westwood Historical Society will host its House and Garden Tour on Saturday May 19th from 11 am - 4pm.  The tour will feature some of Westwood's distinct and unique homes and gardens.  Join the tour to visit the homes and view the gardens at the peak of springtime color.  The event chair Annie Jessup, welcomes additions to the tour.  If you are interested ion having your house or garden included in the tour or if you are willing to serve as a tour volunteer, please contact Annie by phone at 781-249-3579 or email at westwoodhousetour@gmail.com  Local businesses are welcome to sponsor advertisements in the Tour booklet.  Contact Annie for further information.

Tickets for the tour can be purchased in advance at Decor and More, Dedham  Savings, High Street Market and the Needham Bank.  Advance tickets are $20.  Tickets may also be purchased for $25 on the day of the Tour at the Fisher Schoolhouse.  The Schoolhouse will be open 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM and will fature refreshments and raffle items.
